What Is the Truth About Power Washing a House?
After being in the trades for several decades, I'd like to share some secrets about power washing a house.
The first question a home owner has is "How can I get a good deal on power washing my home?" To answer that
honestly, you have to consider what exactly is involved in doing the job correctly.
Dangers or Risks Involved when Power
Washing a Home
- Chemicals Used
-
- Budget cleaners use bleach -bleach is toxic to animals and plants and can easily stain adjacent
areas to house such as decks and porches. Inexperienced cleaners use it since it is cheap
- We only use bio-degradable detergents (Never Bleach) safe for
plants
- Damaging Vinyl Siding
-
- Inexperienced cleaners can damage vinyl siding very easily by using high pressure and by not
cleaning siding with proper methods.
- We use safe and effective cleaning agents and always proper water pressure
control to protect your home's siding. High water pressure is not necessary and can be damaging to
vinyl siding.
- Gutters and Downspouts
-
- Budget cleaners spray and run. They'll tell you the "tiger stripe" stains cannot be
removed.
- We use special cleaners developed specifically for cleaning aluminum gutters.
The electrostatic stains commonly called "tiger strips" in the trade are removed by hand cleaning with
the proper cleaner and not with high pressure.
